The girls wanted to make pizza. So we used whole wheat pita bread for the crust. Each of the girls got to make their own pizza and select their own toppings. Not only did they have fun making the pizza, they really enjoyed eating their results!
1 package of whole wheat pita bread
1 small can of tomato sauce
½ can of tomato paste
1 t. oregano
½ t. garlic salt
1 cup sliced black olives
1 cup fresh broccoli florets
1 cup pineapple tidbits
1/2 cup roasted red pepper (optional)
½ cup green olives (optional)
½ cup green peppers, diced (optional)
½ cup red onion, sliced thinly (optional)
¼ cup nutritional yeast (optional)
Preheat oven to 425 degrees
In a small bowl mix the tomato sauce, tomato paste, oregano and garlic salt together.
Spread pizza sauce over entire pita bread.
Top pizza with any assortment of vegetables you prefer. Sprinkle some nutritional yeast on top if you want a little cheesy flavor.
Bake for 10 to 15 minutes
